SEREMBAN, April 12 – Those who oppose the listing of Felda Global Ventures Holdings (FGVH) on Bursa Malaysia are more motivated by politics rather than the economic interests and future of Felda and its settlers.
Felda chairman Tan Sri Mohd Isa Samad said they were only good at criticising and opposing any good effort by the government without looking at the positive aspects.
“They should give good economic suggestions for the good of Felda and the settlers, but now they oppose merely for political mileage,” he told reporters after opening the 38th annual-general meeting of the Malaysian Malay Chamber of Commerce Negeri Sembilan branch here, today.
Mohd Isa said the listing of the FGVH was to enable Felda to compete at the global level as an established plantation management company and help boost the socio-economy of the settlers.
He said FGVH also needed to expand and control its economic activity especially producing downstream products based on oil palm such as in food, bio diesel and other products.
